LG 410G Debuts for TracFone

This might be old news for some since it came out last week while I was on vacation, but the LG 410G is now available in some ZIP codes from TracFone’s website. This looks like another basic GSM phone, similar to the Motorola w260g, without a camera or bluetooth. It does, however, feature a couple of options that might make it preferable to the 260, including voice recorder and external caller id.

The LG410G is not yet showing up in all zip codes, so you’ll have to click here and enter your ZIP code to see if it’s available to you. As usual, I’m going to pick one up and put together a review for you, but it may be a few weeks before I get it out. I’ll try to get some pictures up before that, though. And, here’s a run-down of the specs according to TracFone:

  • Features Downloadable Ringtones, Graphics, News, Weather, Sports and more using Airtime Minutes
  • Compact Flip Phone Design
  • Color screen display
  • Handsfree Speaker
  • External Caller ID
  • Vibration Alert
  • Voice Recorder
  • Auto Redial
  • Phone Book with up to 500 Entries
  • 13 pre-loaded ringtones
  • Alarm Clock
  • Hearing Aid Compatible (HAC) rating M-3
  • Lightweight – 2.85 ounces
  • Battery life with up to 4 hours of talk time and up to 7 days of standby time

yeah, even though the announcement about the new TracFone LG 410g is (sort-of)old news…at least you did a preview of the phone anyways! [which is good :-) ] The LG 410g is sort-of like the Samsung T101g, not really too many neat features…but has data-services and TracFone Mobile Web Access. And I still can’t wait till TracFone comes-out with the Motorola em326g, that is 1 of the best phones they have had in long time :-) ! {and it looks-like Net10 is already starting to slightly show and introduce the Moto em326g music/slider on there website [you just got to look in the right places....like the data-services area you see]. But good LG 410g preview!

I just bought an LG 410G Tracphone last week. It’s OK. Still trying to get used to it after having my old cell phone for several years. If you need the car charger, the one that has 4 interchangeable tips that says it fits all LG phones WILL NOT FIT. I had to go to Best Buy to get the right charger. Neither Target nor Walmart sell the correct car charger for this phone. The set up manual is just that, it doesn’t go into any detail on all the features. The only game on it is Sudoku, which is OK. You can’t personalize the banner, at least I haven’t been able to yet. I also can’t make my own ringtones. I don’t care much for the charging port on the side, but it will do. I’ve noticed if the volume is set too high, your caller comes across as distorted. I need it up to hear, but then have to turn it down to understand. The Unit Converter for Velocity feature can only convert metric to english, but not vice-versa. Time will tell if I keep this phone as long as I kept my old one. All in all, just adequate so far. I bought it on sale for $14.99 at Target, the car charger for $19.99 at Best Buy. Why does a charger cost more than the phone?
