FREE Motorola w376g

TracFone has once again lowered their price on the wildly popular Motorola w376g. Brand new, this phone will cost $29.99. But you can now find a refurbished model on TracFone’s site FREE when you buy a 60 minute airtime card for $19.99. And, coupon code 23444 is still working for $3 off your purchase, bringing your total down to $16.99. And, since the w376g will automatically include Double Minutes for Life, you can add that 60 minute card to your new phone and you’ll get a total of 200 minutes:

  • 60 minutes for the card
  • 60 bonus minutes from the Double Minutes for Life
  • 60 bonus minutes when you use code 14938
  • 20 bonus minutes when you activate the phone on the web

That’s a lot of value for $16.99. In fact, you might even want to buy two, use both airtime cards as you need them, and keep the second phone as a backup. At this price, your getting less than 10 cents per minute on the airtime alone, and the phone is free. So even if you never use the phone, it’s still a good deal.

Keep in mind that this model also has a camera, bluetooth, web browser and, as I mentioned above, Double Minutes on all future airtime cards added to the phone. Plus, for simple voice calls, I’ve found this to be one of the best prepaid models I’ve ever used.

You might also be wondering about the quality of the “refurbished” phone. I, or my friends and family members, have ordered literally dozens of these phones over the years, and I’ve always found the quality to be excellent. Other than the packaging, I’ve never noticed anything about the “refurbished” phones that would cause me to hesitate on purchasing another one. The TracFone refurbs always look and function like brand new as far as I’ve seen.

As usual, I’m going to include a few links for you:

To find this phone on TracFone’s site, click here, enter your ZIP code, and look for the bright green banner near the top of the screen.

For instructions on transferring your current TracFone number and remaining minutes to a new phone, check out this step-by-step picture tutorial. (this tutorial is for transferring from one GSM to another, but there’s another link on that page if you are transferring from a CDMA phone).

Thanks for the info. about the W376. I already have one but am getting this deal for a back-up phone and the 60-minute card. However the 23444 code for $3 off was not accepted. I did get free shipping.

I bought my first TracFone W376g and thought it defective so I bought another W376g. It took me 2 1/2 MONTHS and ENDLESS hours on the phone with TracFone reps. to configure my 2nd TracFone W376g to send/receive text messages using SMS/EMS and send/receive pictures using MMS. The knowledgeable TracFone rep. also boosted the cell phone’s signal strength, perhaps giving it the ZIP code of a large city.

To send text or pictures from your PC to your phone, use your cell phone’s 10-digit number using the following format:
    ##########@txt.att.net
    ##########@mms.att.net

Now that I know it can be done, I’ll try to configure the 1st W376g to the same standards so my husband can use it.

Also, you can use the W376g camera to take a picture of a picture and store it as your cell phone’s Wallpaper without using units.

well, those sms-email addresses probably only work with TracFones with AT&T sim…but i believe mine has a T-Mobile sim, which i would like to find an sms-email address for. (and i’ve tried sending an sms-email message from my W376g to my WOWWAY email address, but it never really worked….so i’m mainly trying to pick-up a sms-email address from my phone. lol

I was reading that the bonus 60 units only applies to the reconditioned v170. Did you use the 14938 code with success when you activated you units on the phone? The $3 off coupon seemed to work for me, but I have not completed the transaction yet.

I am not getting free shipping and I have tried it with 2 phones, and 1 phone with and without the $3 off code. I see it is for phone bundles 19.99 and up. so I am sure it would not work with just one phone and the $3 off code. Does it show up in the cart after you have given them your credit card info?

    Hey, that’s a good deal.

I got the $3 off and free shipping. The free shipping didn’t show up until the end (as usual YMMV). They did have this note that if you purchased a phone previously and didn’t activate it, then they won’t let you buy another one. I guess I’ll shop at real brick-and-mortar stores when I want to buy an extra battery and charger. (Where else can you get a genuine Motorola battery and charger for $10!)

Please advice me if the W376g cell phone with bluetooth is compatible with the bluetooth system in the LEXUS LS 460. Thank You so much!

Herbert Olmo – Can’t say for sure, the phone’s Bluetooth hooks up to some cars and not to some others. Here is a thread that describes other people’s experiences with this:

can you get a black face plate anyplace for a Motorola w376g?

    • 10 pbushx2 June 7, 2009 at 4:27 pm

I’ve heard of someone using the black faceplate from a Net10 w375, but I don’t know where you can buy just the faceplate, unfortunately.

Thanks once again for a great tip on the W376g phone. My current phone’s battery is not lasting and this is a great deal!

I’ve been trying to find this deal since it was first posted. Is it only available in certain areas? The only refurbished phone available to me when I click on the green banner is an LG for $49.99. I’ve searched the site for the Motorola W376, but it takes me to a dead link, and I can’t go any further.

    Suggestions?

    • 13 pbushx2 June 13, 2009 at 9:14 pm

Anna, that likely means this phone won’t work in your area. What is your current phone model?

      • 14 Anna June 13, 2009 at 9:33 pm

I took advantage of a deal you wrote about last summer on the LG3280. It’s been a great phone; I’m actually looking for an extra phone for the rest of the family to fight over!

I just ordered this phone today (06/15/09) from Tracfone.com and the coupon code 23444 for $3 off the purchase worked for me. They have free shipping on orders of 19.99 or more as well. Even though the coupon code takes the total to 16.99 you still get the free shipping (I chose the 3-day Fedex). With tax of 1.06 the total was 18.05. What a great deal! Plus the 60 minute card! This will be a welcome upgrade to my Moto V176. Thanks for the great blog!

they don’t have this phone available, do not see it on site??? i have the v170 i believe, what’s the big difference?

  13. 17 Miss E July 8, 2009 at 1:30 pm

I’m looking for the refurbished phone deal as well. I can’t seem to find it. I know the phone works for my area because it is the phone I was using before I got the LG600. Does the deal expire?

    • 18 pbushx2 July 9, 2009 at 3:18 pm

Unfortunately TracFone yanked the deal from the site pretty quickly this time around. It very well may come back up soon, but I don’t know when or for how long that might be.

I have had the phone a short time and I’m disappointed with the camera and retrieving photos. I finally broke down and tried to send a photo via e-mail. The system deducted 1 minuet and failed to send the e-mail. So, I’m penalized for attempting to send something and the system failed to do it?

I think the internal antenna is not that good either. In some locations, my old Motorola with an external antenna shows three bars, while this new phone show one or none.

As for the deal, I saw that it was active till the end of the month. I didn’t even think to research the photo retrieval on the phone before I bought it. Lesson learned.

i spent over an -1 hour- on the phone extracting answers one specific question at a time.(not a subject question was available) to just end up having to add codes to the phone and wait 24 hours to even try it. it was of course concerning the motorola w376g and pictures. the pictures can only be sent to another cell phone(that is supported) in a message that costs 1.5 units per minute! not to an e-mail address at all. this is all according to their operator at tracphone.
    PLEASE HELP!!!
if you have any information for help in getting the pics out of the phone. can you take the sim card out and access the pics that way? any ideas? especially ones that worked?
    thanx a lot
    very frustrated

As a followup to my earlier post about this phone, I’m not happy at all with the battery life of my W376g. My old V176 battery would last for 10 days on standby but this phone starts going dead after only 2 days. I’m very disappointed and would not recommend the W376g for this reason. If the LG 600g were offered in my zip code I would switch in a minute but it’s not.
