So unless you use your phone a lot, it ends up costing a lot more than Tracfone. You also have to spend a LOT more to renew with Net10 than you do Tracfone. Although it looks like they are the same company. I don't understand why Tracfone cripples their phones so much. This EM326g looks like its not as crippled. The EM326g and C139 are GSM phones; Verizon and Alltel are CDMA networks. The LG 290c is one of the newest CDMA phones from Net10 - it does NOT have an mp3 player, cannot install java apps as far as I know, and the only way to get pictures off the phone is to send an MMS message (or email), but other than those major drawbacks is a very nice phone. (I'm still working on my review, but the one-line summary is that it does the basics very well.) If you want the slider form, I'd go that route. The LG 220c is also very nice, but without the camera and with a slightly smaller screen. Both of those models produce very good sound quality. It might be kind of tough to find those models in stores, but if you order through Net10.com you can enter zip "54747" in order to bring up the CDMA models. Based on your blogs,it appears that I am in deep doo-doo with regards to signals on the 326. Using UP area code, the same phones come up as with my Detroit area code. Question...is there anything at all I can do with regards to getting a Net10 phone that will give me at least a glimmer of hope of getting a signal in these remote areas? About an hour later I was driving and had it in my hand by the window. Yes, I dropped it out of the window! It was open. only 1 car barely nicked it which should have been ore than enough.
