52430 worked yesterday to give 200 bonus minutes with the 800 double minute 1 year card. I followed your advise to get the LG phone from Tracfone ($99.95) with the 800 minute card. Also I purchased your guide, although I think I am through with Tracfone for at least a year!
I appreciate your efforts and hope you can keep up this work.

I just activated my new LG 225 phone, overall it is a step up from the V176. My only complaint is the funky charging cord, I think a mini USB such as on the Motorola W370 is a better design.
We just purchased 2 376g trac phones. We have never had trac phones before. Can we keep our cell phone numbers we’ve had with Sprint? Any help would be appreciated.
Hi Patty
I’ve never done this personally, but others have. The process is referred to as “porting” your old numbers from Sprint to TracFone. From what I’ve heard, though, it can be a difficult process. TracFone does many things well as a company; unfortunately porting a phone number from another provider is not one of those things. If the numbers are very important to you, though, it’s worth a shot. To do this, do not activate your new TracFone handsets yet. Call TracFone’s customer service number – 800-867-7183 – and tell them what you want to do. You will need to provide info about your Sprint account. (If you already activated your new phones, that’s ok, but it will be a little easier if you did not yet activate them. The CSR who takes your call to the 800 number can help you sort it out.) Also, do not cancel your Sprint account until you’ve received confirmation that your numbers have definitely been ported (in other words, when you dial your old number, your new phone starts ringing).
Hope this helps!
Nice page you have been a big help.
2 questions! After reading the limited instruction book
How do U attach a photo to a phone #?
And also a certain ring tone?
Thanks Jeff
Hi Jeff
I’m very pleased the reviews were helpful to you. Regarding your two questions, which model do you have?
Hi – I posted yesterday asking for help getting service on a new LG225. I don’t recall where the msg went. Today after 3 calls to Tracfone, my LG225 still shows no bars but is able to send and receive. So please discard my question if you have no yet posted it. Thanks.
P have a question on battery. Can I leave phone on charger over nite? I have nokia 2126i and moto 370. also would leaving a car charger on indefinitely harm phone/battery. fellow from raioshack warned against this…. thanx, gene
Gene – this should be no problem whatsoever to leave the phone on the charger overnight, as far as I know. That’s the way I charged my Nokia 1100, which has the same battery as the 2126i, for over 3 years, and I didn’t notice any ill effects.
Great service you provide but for now I don’t need more minutes just more airtime. Could you discuss your opinion on the best way to add airtime cheaply. Also is there any way to transfer minutes from one tracfone to another? I have three tracfones in my household. Thanks
Hi Bill
I think the current Motorola V170 + 60 minute card deal is the best way currently to get more service time. The whole package is $20, and the card comes with 60 minutes and 90 days. The phone will also get 20 minutes and 60 days, which you can then transfer to your main phone. End result is 150 days and 80 minutes (more with bonus codes and/or double for life) for $20 +tax, or just about $4/month.
53322 worked on 03-09-2009
for 60 bonus on a 60 card.
Hi,
Bonus codes 56500 and 53786 for 50 and 40 bonus points, respectively, have expired for a 200 minute card. Also bonus code 58314 for 60 minutes on a 60 minute card have expired as well. I was although able to get 40 bonus minutes on a 200 minute card today with code 62498! Hope this helps anyone else.
Have a Great Weekend!!!
27076 works thanks again. Do you think that this promo codes will work for net 10 phones to? they are a tracfone type
nice! i’m gonna make my own blog
I just purchased a new T301g tracfone, i have used a cheaper non camera tracfone for the past 2 years. On my older tracfone, i have had no problem sending and receiving international texts. With this new phone(I just activated it on April 30th and assumed it was internationally enabled when I spoke to technical support to transfer my old minutes and phone number)
My problem is that i can receive international texts but when I tried to reply to my friend’s text from UK, i got an error message that said SMS restricted 45 error code or something similar.
I went online and did the sign up for interntational service and it said it would take 48 hours to update the service.
Even though i am receiving Texts from my friend, why can’t i text back internationally like i could do on my old tracfone?
Does it have something to do with waiting 48 hrs? How can i get around this?????
thank you
carlah
My older tracfone model was a motorola c 139 before I purchased the samsung T301g. was wondering if I need to reactivate the old phone to enable international texting again. thanks,
carlah
Hi Carlah
I don’t have any experience with international texting, so I’m afraid I can’t help. I think the international thing on the website is just for voice calls, but I could be wrong. Were you able to resolve anything?
Just used code 26384 200 card added 5o min. 6/8/09
51992 , 54626 , 52268 , 53322 , 56500 , 53886 , 57630 , 53664 , 52967 , 54969 , 57676 , 53018 , all expired
Received your email today, It is a fast moving world. I checked a lot of other zip codes and cant find the offer.
Do you have a special zip code that you use?
jeff
I just purchased a Motorola EM326g phone from NET 10. What battery charger do I need? This phone does not appear anywhere on Motorola’s website and none of the accessories providers I searched had a listing for it either.Does this phone exist anywhere but on NET10’s website?
Hi John – You are correct that you will receive a charger in the package. It’s a charger that plugs in to a wall outlet. If you need a car charger, anything labeled as being compatible with a Motorola razor Vxx or Motorola w175, w260, w370, w375, w376g, w377, or w385 will work, among many others.
Hi, I must be super stupid…I was trying to find the deal on the Motorola W376G from zip 53228. The banner comes up for 29.95 but I cant figure out how to find the phone if you purchase the 60 minute card. Can you send step by step instructions to my email? Thanks.
the w376g bundle with the 60-minute card was taken off the site a few weeks ago, which is why you can’t find it. The only airtime bundles they offer now are a few older phones with double minute cards, or one-year cards.
I don’t know when or if they’ll bring back some offers with the lower airtime cards.
New on computer trying to get some info on Tracfone.
Will LG200C work in St. Louis , Mo. very well?
I want CDMA network , cause it is National Coverage.
Thank You for you help.
Joe
Hi Joe
The 200c should work great there – it will get service wherever there is coverage from the Verizon network or the old Alltel network (now owned by Verizon as well).
Dear Sir,
Just talked to tracfone ,they said if I buy a LG 200C phone,
Get a DMFL card,
Next get a $100 card, I would have 800 min. and that would cost me .04 cents per. min.
Is this right, or not???????????
I want to Thank very much for your help.
Joe
Hi Joe,
I’m not sure how they came up with that figure – I don’t think it’s quite accurate. If you had DMFL on your phone already, you could get the 400 minute card and it would double to 800 minutes total. Then use a 250 minute promotional code as well, and you’re up to 1050 minutes. That comes out to just under $.10 a minute. Another alternative would be the 450 minute card, which only includes 90 days of service and costs $80. Add the 450 card, get 450 for the DMFL bonus, and another 80 minute bonus code for a total of 980 minutes on that $80 purchase. That’s closer to $.08 per minute, but still not as low as you were talking about.

I’m having a problem entering multiple numbers for a contact.
Sorry, the previous question was meant for the Motorola EM326g
Cathy – I think the trick is to make sure the contacts are saved to the Phone, not the SIM card. This is an option you can change in the “edit contact” screen, I believe.
I’ve been using a TracFone Nokia since Oct. 2006. Tried a Motorola briefly, and hated it. Nokia is the easiest to use of all the brands I’ve tried. Also, Nokia has the best phonebook: five or six entries per name. There is only one thing which needs improving. I want a TracFone Nokia WITH a camera.
Please tell me, WHERE do I find one, and what models are available? Is it possible to take a network Nokia (ATT&T/Cingular/T-Mobile etc.) and convert it into a TracFone?
Thanks, everyone, for any help you can give.
April – You are not alone in wishing for a wider selection of Nokia handsets for Tracfone. Unfortunately, we haven’t seen a new Nokia model for several years now, and it appears that TracFone has ended its relationship with Nokia as a manufacturer of TracFone handsets.
And you cannot bring any old phone over to TracFone – it has to have the appropriate software already installed on the phone. There is no way you can install this software yourself.
I really really appreciate the updates on phone deals and codes to go with it. I bought another Motorola w376g today with 60 minutes and a free accessory kit for $18 (including tax)! Can’t beat that! I will transfer the minutes after activation to my current phone and I finally have car charger again. Thank you!
How do I get bonus points? This is my first cell phone and I am trying to understand how to us it without wasting minutes. I want to use the camera but to upload to the computer I have to buy tools???? Universal tools do not work from Target???
Lois, are you using the 600g? If so, you can use bluetooth to send pictures to your computer. In this case, your computer must be bluetooth-equipped.Another option is to email the pictures to your self. Don’t purchase any “tools” for this purpose – they will not work with TracFones. For guidance on bonus codes, please refer to your other comment – I responded to that earlier today.
code 14938 worked on two phones today (10/13/09)
added 80 min and 60 days of service wit a 60 day card
Thanks for a great blog!
On the 326G is there a way to add numbers that call you to your contacts?
I think if you go into your call log, you can access the option to add to contact from that list.
